Players can capture Pokémon directly in the overworld incontinently without going through a battle and can engage in battle by releasing Pokémon they've preliminarily captured near a wild Pokémon (some wild Pokémon still need to be caught via battle however). Poké Balls in this period were made of wood and puffed brume when the Pokémon was caught.

There are base camps deposited in the overworld that help the player in numerous ways. Away from serving as places where players and their Pokémon can rest, this is where players can report to Professor Laventon about their results. The player can draft particulars like Poké Balls, bomb losers and further by collecting Apricorns, Berries and the suchlike. For case, if the player collects an Apricorn and a type of gravestone called a Tumblestone, the player can draft a standard Poké Ball.

For the first time in the Pokémon series, the player character can now take damage directly from wild Pokémon and falling from highplaces. However, the player will black out, and will lose particulars stored in the bag, If the player takes too important damage. The player can recover at the base camp.

When a Pokémon is transferred out into battle, it can use its moves in two different styles Strong Style and Nimble Style. However, the attack power of the player's Pokémon will increase, but its action speed will drop, If the player chooses the Strong Style. However, the action speed of the player's Pokémon will increase, but its attack power will drop, If the player chooses the Nimble Style.

They're called Alpha Pokémon, and they chase down the player when they smell the player's presence. Though they're tough opponents, they can be caught by the player, and either catching or defeating them will beget them to drop rare particulars.

Though Coach battles weren't yet a thing in the Hisui region's period, certain wardens, each taking care of a specific Pokémon, can battle the player. They forged strong bonds with their Pokémon.

During the player's adventure, the player will admit an item called a Celestica flute.
Beforehand on in the game, the player will admit a device known as the Arc Phone. It'll help the player, and it seems to have a connection with the Fabulous Pokémon Arceus.
